As a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) I follow a Code of Ethics, dictated by the State of South Carolina. All information clients provide, both written and verbal, will remain confidential. I treat clients ethically and fairly and establish an atmosphere of trust and respect during each session. I ask the same of my clients in return. I understand and recognize the effects of trauma, and want all my clients to feel physically, psychologically, and emotionally safe. As a LMT my goal is to assist clients in meeting their goals of relaxation, stress reduction, and pain management. The primary modalities of massage I use are Deep Tissue, Ashiatsu, Cupping and Neck/Shoulder Therapy.

Scope of Practice

As a Licensed Massage Therapist, I utilize manual techniques, and potentially other supplemental therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client. I do not diagnose or prescribe medications for medical conditions. My services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention for specific conditions. Clients are advised to consult a medical doctor of their choice for any specific condition which requires medical treatment. I have a list of trusted holistic and medical professionals in the area if you would like a referral.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are available online through MB, by calling, or via my website by dollar amount or service type so they can be used towards services for the receiver. Gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash and must be presented at time of payment. Gift certificates cannot be combined with any other sale, discount, or promo. In the event of a no call/no show the gift certificate will be considered redeemed and void. In the event a client is running late, the service may be shortened in order to maintain the schedule, and the client is still responsible for payment in full. The recipient of the GC is responsible for paying the remaining funds due upon checkout. All GC's expire one year from purchase date.

No Call/No Show

If a client fails to show up for their appointment without giving notice they will be charged the full amount for the session. An invoice will be sent to the email on file and the card on file will be charged. Future appointments cannot be booked until the balance is paid. I reserve the right to refuse future services after a no call/show. No call/showing 2 times will result in automatic firing of the client and future appointments will not be available.

Medical History

It is the responsibility of the client to disclose medical history on an intake form at the first appointment to ensure that there are no contraindications (a condition or circumstance that indicates that massage is not safe). Clients are asked to include past surgeries, injuries, trauma, and anything they feel is necessary to note. Clients are asked to share any changes in their health, diagnoses, treatments, illness, or conditions. Clients may be asked to provide written permission from a physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that massage therapy is safe for you to receive.

Punctuality

Clients are asked to please arrive for their appointments 10 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. This allows for time to fill out or update intake forms and discuss the treatment plan for the session. In the event a client is running late, the service may be shortened to maintain the schedule, and the original treatment time may be charged.

Client Liability Waiver

I voluntarily consent to treatment via bodywork and assume all reasonable risks. I agree to keep Beaufort Massage & Bodywork updated to changes in my health and understand there is no liability on their part should I fail to do so. I understand that if I experience any pain or discomfort, I am to inform the therapist so adjustments can be made. I believe that Beaufort Massage & Bodywork is providing a safe environment and do not hold them liable for injury or illness that may result from treatment. I understand that this is a professional Massage Therapy establishment, with a licensed therapist and any inappropriate comments or conduct will result in immediate action according to their policies.

Payment & Tipping

Beaufort Massage & Bodywork accepts cash, check, credit card, and HSA/FSA. Credit cards will not be charged until after the session. Client's credit card information will remain confidentially stored through Stripe. Prices are subject to change at any time. To create ease at check out and reduce no shows, a credit card is required to book an appointment.

When clients receive excellent customer service and are extremely satisfied with their massage sessions, tipping is appreciated, but not expected or mandatory.

Cancellations

Beaufort Massage & Bodywork understands and respects the hectic schedules of clients. If, within 24 hours of my session, I develop a contagious illness, or have a sudden unplanned personal emergency rendering me unable to make my appointment, I will inform Beaufort Massage & Bodywork right away. When given sufficient notice, appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled. Please understand that operating hours are limited, and I am often booked in advance. There is no charge for cancellations received at least 24 hours in advance. If a client must cancel with less than 2 hours’ notice, they will be charged the full amount for the session.

Weather

Beaufort Massage & Bodywork prioritizes the safety of clients and realizes there are emergency situations caused by inclement weather. Should this occur during a client's scheduled appointment, they will be contacted via phone call to reschedule. I ask that clients contact me via calling, text, or email to reschedule as soon as possible, if they are unable to come in due to extreme weather.
